AFE 2009

Aims & Objectives

The expedition has three main aims.

Primary aim - to prove to the public that a ‘Hybrid' engine can perform to the same standard of reliability and durability of conventional fuel engines

Secondary aim - to highlight a need for the replacement of existing engines to reduce resource consumption thus protecting the environment

Tertiary aim - to raise over £2000 in total for the chosen charities (Calvert Trust and The Japanese Environmental Education Forum, JEEF)

To fulfil the expedition aims the team has identified 6 major objectives that must be achieved.

To raise public awareness of environmental issues surrounding the expedition.

To promote alternative options to conventional fuels.

To raise sufficient funds to meet charitable donation.

To provide a test and evaluation environment for other donated equipment such as GPS and supplied shelters.
